The third issue of the Fishing Industry Protocol for Archaeological Discoveries Newsletter is now available to download. It contains details of the changes to the project with the end of the generous support given by the Heritage Lottery Fund; news of the latest finds, and the upcoming Littlehampton Museum presentation and display. In addition it has the details on the Marine Antiquities Scheme app and how finds can still be reported and shared with the wider community.

‘Littlehampton Museum Talk’
On Thursday 08 February as part of the Heritage Lottery Funded exhibition ‘Nets, Wrecks & Artefacts at Littlehampton Museum, Alistair Byford-Bates from Wessex Archaeology will be giving an enlightening talk about the unique objects found under water. Entitled ‘Nets, Wrecks, and Artefacts‘, attendees can find out more about the Fishing Industry Protocol for Archaeological Discoveries and how the scheme is helping Sussex fishermen record some fascinating finds from off the Sussex coast.
The talk is an evening event, 7pm-8:30pm, with a chance to see the exhibition outside of normal opening hours. Please call Littlehampton Museum on 01903 738100 to book your place. Booking opens 8th January 2018.
FIPAD Newsletter Second Issue
The second issue of the Fishing Industry Protocol for Archaeology Newsletter is now available to download. It features details on the success of the project during the last few months and a new method of reporting finds, along with images of a couple of the recent finds reported through the protocol. The hints and tips on taking photographs is also included, along with a simple guide on what to look for when dating pottery.

Future issues will cover other frequent finds, their recording and identification. FIPAD Facebook Page Launched.
Following on from the successful relaunch of the Fishing Industry Protocol for Archaeological Discoveries a Facebook page has been created to showcase the finds from the project, along with events and the projects outreach programme. Find us at: fipad.
Chichester Harbour Wing July 2016
